Bella + Romi

We shot Bella and Romi’s wedding on a beautiful August afternoon in Idyllwild, California. The preparations, ceremony and reception took place at Bella’s parent’s home, whose yard has hidden paths, flowers, herbs, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and a little archway which was perfect for their sweet first look.

After the first look, we took a trip out to Garner Valley, one of their favorite spots, to shoot with Bella and Romi in the wide open fields. Bella was a bohemian mountain bride, with flowers tucked in to her loose waves, a flowing dress and leather sandals. Of course her best accessory was her big smile, which she wore all day—both she and Romi were the most relaxed bride and groom we’ve met!

It was an intimate wedding with just their closest family and friends, sweet and simple, with the focus on celebrating Bella and Romi’s love and the joining together of their families. The ceremony was officiated by Bella’s grandfather, Star, who also serenaded them with an original song for their first dance later that evening.

For the evening reception, they strung fairy lights from the trees, and decorated the tables with rounds of wood, topped with candles, cedar boughs and flowers. Guests were treated to a delicious Italian dinner followed by a beautiful cake from Idyllwild Bake Shop and Brew. Bella and Romi’s puppy, Milo almost stole the show with his cute looks, but he had stiff competition from the flower girl, Bella’s niece.

Of all the thoughtful preparations and sweet moments, the highlight of the day was Bella and Romi’s genuine joy and excitement throughout the day which made filming and editing their story a pleasure.
