Larry + Jennifer

La Quinta —the self-described “Gem of the Desert” — is one of the cities in the Coachella Valley, nestled between Indian Wells and Indio. Driving through the city, you get the sense of just how many country clubs and golf courses there are, for which is the city is well known. Most of these properties are hidden behind walls and beautifully manicured trees and shrubs, each one taking up multiple city blocks.

The Hideaway is no exception. It is a beautiful, sprawling collection of homes, golf courses, restaurants and bars. This was our first wedding working with Cathy from COJ (Celebration of Joy) Events. Jennifer and Larry — the bride and groom — wanted a fun event for all their friends to celebrate their marriage, and Cathy certainly delivered. The traditional sit-down meal was replaced with a variety of food trucks serving Japanese-style burritos, grilled cheese sandwiches and upscale farm-to-table fare. There was something for everyone and the informality of the dining really seemed to allow the guest to relax, mingle and have fun.

It was a pleasure working with all the vendors who worked hard to make this such a special day, and an honor to capture the events of the day for Larry and Jennifer.
